At some point I am going to have to go back through the Burrow's archives and see when the notion of truthiness took hold of its center.   Nance is mired in a morass of sorrowfulness of spirit and the weather isn't helping at all.  Those of us who live in mild climates must be excused our inflated expectations.  San Diego ....Tucson... these are places where sunny warm winters are the norm and where two days of high clouds bring on sighs of disgust.  Enduring day after day of clouds and cold and gloom was not in the welcome packet left by our realtors - no, it was not. Sometimes I forget that truthiness is the order of the day.  I forget my skepticism when presented with amazing incredible oh wow did you hear that reports and sometimes, Dear Readers, I pass along the truthiness because it just sounds so cool.  I don't do it on purpose, honest I don't.  But I admit that I am ashamed when I consider that I own just a little bit of the nonsense that passes for facts these days. What's going on with those suspected-of-child-trafficking Americans currently in detention in Haiti?

President Obama is doing a lot of thinking about Afghanistan this week. To prove it, NBC Nightly News just ran a picture of him sitting at the head of a long table, in his shirtsleeves, surrounded by Cabinet members and the Veep and lots of paper. There wasn't a laptop in sight. The President was the youngest person in the shot by a bunch of years. He's drinking a bottle of water; Hillary's a Coke girl. Not Diet Coke. Regular, full strength classic Coca-Cola. That's one of the few things I think she gets right. I really hope they recycle at the White House. Otherwise, they're setting a very bad example for our nation.
