Our typical Wednesday evening call covered
lots of deaths this week and
Turkey is showing a lot of gumption, opening the airport so quickly and a snatch of politics before my son raised an interesting question:
Is there a button somewhere we can push and just reboot 2016?
One of the guy's I work with was in the airport in Istanbul on the day of the bombing. His flight took off five hours before the bombing. When his plane landed at Dulles, everyone turned on their phones and saw the news. Talk about feeling really lucky and relieved. I'm so tired of the violence. :(
ReplyDeleteSo messed-up on the days. I was going to say to have a great weekend, but we have one more day in the work week.

Oh, dear. So glad the tragedy is one step removed from your doorway.

Thank you for this Ashleigh. Especially the last line. Just the way I have been feeling all spring!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, we soldier on!

It's funny as I start every year thinking it'll be a great one but they often disappoint somewhere along the way. This one though has been depressing on so many levels. I'll be so glad when we're past it.
ReplyDeleteThe political robo-calls are convincing me finally to start blocking some numbers. To pick up a phone from anonymous and hear Hillary Clinton's voice is just too much. If she was using a fair system, she'd have her name announced like our friends and businesses do. This idea of ambushing someone does not get money or anything but a quick hangup. It interrupts my work day even when I don't answer and I resent it. 2017 can't come too soon!
And here we are, a month later, and Hillary is still calling me and so are Republicans wanting to survey my choices except I don't vote Republican, and I'm with you, Rain..l. bring on 2017!
