A Good Use of Five Minutes

No, it's not another post exhorting you to take political action.  It's video that can be watched without sound (imagine the music as you will).

It's the 84Lumber commercial from the Super Bowl; the one which crashed the website as gazillions of people tried to connect to see the second half.

That second half, starting about 2.30, is Deemed Too Controversial for TV by the graphic on the website.

You decide.

Spoiler Alert.  Don't read any further if you haven't seen the ad.

I have a quick rejoinder for those who will make this about illegal immigrants pouring across our borders, unchecked:
It's a door, not a window.  It's solid, but there is light on the other side.

  1. We tried to go to the Web site right after the commercial aired and it was down. I will try again today. Really irks me that Fox censored this commercial. We have a toddler in the White House and the fact that they were so insecure about showing this commercial so as to not offend, says volumes.

I was happy though that other companies were able to get their message out. The Coca-Cola one was my favorite. Actually, made me cry.

Hope you had a great weekend.

  2. I was able to wait a few minutes and watch the whole thing on the 84 Lumber regular web site. It made me cry and feel sick all at the same time. Unfortunately neither Fox nor its viewers care a bit about the reaction to their cowardly refusal to air the whole thing.

  3. I saw this commercial on line earlier, but am unaware of the censorship controversy. Guess I'll have to do a little research. I didn't really watch any of the Super Bowl commercials.
