That Was An Adventure

The Burrow is now a close approximation of what I imagine it will become.  I hope you like the new picture; I didn't intend for it to take up an entire screen and force you to look at it for so long.  On the other hand, Big Cuter laughed about pulling up a blog with a giant pink flower in the header.  Perhaps this makes me more acceptable to younger male readers.

The colors and the font size are also issues, but I'm afraid to tamper with it any further right now.  Here is the post I've been trying to share since this debacle began.  I hope it was worth the wait.

The Current Iteration of The Burrow

The 1440 quoted Katherine Hepburn  on her birthday this week :

If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased.

That speaks to me.  It's a more pleasant way of saying what usually comes out of my mouth:

I don't do things I don't want to do.

This blog has become an olio - an amalgamation of topics and attitudes and other things that I find interesting.  That's what I write about.

It doesn't fit into any category.  Over time it has been family and parenting and aging and shopping and politics and politicians and the weather and moral quandaries and books and movies and education and the flora and fauna in my yard and beyond.

Much of what I write is preaching to the choir - and thank you to those on the other side who keep coming back for more.

I'm often focused inward and often focused on my outer self.  I've noticed posts about haircuts and height, which I am surprised to find others will read.

Many things that interest me are, I think, inherently interesting to most people.  What's that flower?  Who wrote that book?  How are the Cubbies doing this year?

But I may be more interested in most in reading the entire (footnotes included) Mueller Report, in reading the indictments, in digging in the weeds to figure out how many times the budget goes back and forth between Committees and Houses before a final vote and if that's what Reconciliation means.

The Burrow's a receptacle for my thoughts.

They interest me, and I am pleased.

After writing this over several days, it feels as if I've left out the most important part - you who read this and join me in being pleased with the randomness of it all.

  1. I'm glad you're fixed. I understand the frustration. I tried to change my header photo and either Blogger didn't like it, or I didn't. For now I have no photo. I couldn't change the text color. What happened to that option? New and improved? Not!
I read whatever you publish. I like your style!

    1. The new themes are so much less customizable, aren't they? I may opt for no picture, too.
