And Now, It's Obama

I received an email invitation to submit my details for a possible invitation to a GOTV rally for Kamala and Tim, headlined by President Barack Obama.

My President.

It took me no time at all to fill out the form and click send.

And then I fell into a funk.  Remembering those Obama years led me straight into the lair of the Lying Liar.

How can people not notice that the man has no moral center.  No one who worked for him will work for him again, and their reasons are chilling.

From there, I spiraled further.

Polls show the race is tied - how can this be?  He tried to over throw the government, and his (I can't bring myself to capitalize it for him) veep choice thinks there was a peaceful transfer of power in 2021.

He dances with himself on stage for 38 minutes.... an unusually long time in one media outlet's description... and it's not disqualifying.

He's a proud racist and the polls say young black men are in his corner.

Gov. Walz pulled me out of my last turn down the rabbit hole of despair.  Friday's rally can't come soon enough.  I'm losing my mind.

  1. I am disgusted and scared after being reminded how many Americans still support the angry orange man (description courtesy of the young FlapJilly). I hope you have some encouraging photos and comments from the Obama rally to help cheer us up! xox

    1. Of course I will share them (if my rsvp is accepted). I love that you remember 4 year old FlapJilly's response to seeing Obama the brown man and the mean angry orange man; her first exposure to politics. Now she's 10 and reading the kids' version of Newsweek.

  2. Stout heart, I don't think the polls are accurate, from what I am reading it looks like the MAGATs are flooding the zone with right wing polls. TBH I don't know who they are polling, most young people don't answer the phone, I know I don't. But you are right, there is NO WAY this should be close, he's deteriorating mentally, he's dangerous, I could go on & on, but you already know what I'm going to say. Hang in there, I think she's going to win.

    1. Every once in a while, I do too. When she acts like she's in the courtroom she is unstoppable.

    2. Yep, and that interview with that jacka** Bret Baier was a great example of that. He tried to mansplain her and got nowhere with it.

  3. I'm sad for your desperation. I have all of the same "how can this be's", but I am working to spare myself the anguish. Maybe it's that I still mourn for HRC's loss and don't have the heart for another one.

    1. Interesting. I would have voted for a cucumber against him in that election, so I held my nose and voted Democratic. I was invested in him losing rather than her winning. This time, I care about both. Thanks for the think....
