All this over a report card? A parent had taken a report card issue out of the classroom and all the way up to the District Office?
Furious with me, that I didn't share her outrage over those grades. All I could do was sit and listen and nod.
And then, the clincher:
He's 8 years old. Second grade.
Kind of like blaming the president entirely for the high cost of gas?

Oh, I like Olga's comment! And yes, Teaching gets harder and harder with so many "experts" trying to .....Oh, I almost said, "trying to call the shots". I guess I need to come up with a new expression. Oh dear.
ReplyDeleteI stood there watching these brave women who just want kids to learn and who are faced with violence of every sort every day. The highs are why I am Grandma at Prince; the lows are the fears I have when I approach campus. At least now I can run :-(
