I'm so angry at MSNBC and NBC and whatever other outlets they have. There are never any consequences for this man; he bails on a debate and get an hour of free air time. Watching Rachel Maddow and Kamala Harris try not to say aloud what was in their hearts last night was worth watching again this morning on-line.
But I'm not laughing.
The airways are the property of the United States. They are given in exchange for news coverage... theoretically.... back when tv was a novelty and there were but three, lonely, 18-hours-per-day channels. I don't like to see them abused.
Would I be able to stand Trump for an hour?
Would I be able to stay awake for Joe for ninety minutes?
We're looking for a screwball comedy, or maybe a British detective series. I'll let the Twitter-verse alert me to the highlights.
I've already made up my mind.
I don't watch Trump but am not a Trump hater. I have probably watched more Biden to try and determine if he's got something mentally wrong and also to figure out what he'll do when he's elected as seems most likely. Most dems seem only interested in voting against someone but when I ask what will the other guy do, they don't care. That's scary to me. Shouldn't we care what someone with that much power will do but dems just say-- he's not Trump and as to what they'll get, it's a pig in a poke as the old farm saying goes. We may soon find out.
ReplyDeleteHe will have a people first agenda, not a stock market-centric focus. He will have an open tent; his cabinet will have more than old, white, rich, well connected men. He has a plan to gain control over the pandemic. He believes in science and is open to innovation and ideas that challenge him. He has a heart that understands pain and can focus on some one other than himself. He is pro life in the deepest sense - caring about human beings after as well as before birth. He knows foreign leaders and has their respect....won't it be wonderful to regain our status in the world?
DeleteIt is not a pig in a poke; I plowed through policy papers to prove to myself that he was worthy of my Mayor Pete loyalty.
And being Not Trump is certainly part of it and that's not a bad thing, imho.

What did you think about the emails that supposedly are from Hunter-- with his photos in them. If there is truth in them, then Biden has profited also from his power. Does that matter? I get that people think Trump's kids are also profiting but he is only there 4 years. Biden has had 47 years to help his brother and one son. I suspect most of us see what we want in our candidates-- well, except someone like me who doesn't trust politicians period. either party
DeleteI think it's pretty clear that the whole thing is Russian disinformation. I'm sure there are bits and pieces of reality mixed in, but to give it credence when it comes from Rudy.... really, Rain, can you imagine leaving 3 computers and not picking them up? And the computer guy is legally blind so can't vouch that it was Hunter. And the email to his son is loving.
DeleteThere is a false equivalency between charging the government to stay in your hotels, securing licenses in China, and playing golf more often than I've hugged my grandchildren and anything anyone else in my lifetime has done, done so brazenly, so dismissively, so callously.
Wow.
I feel better. I'm a more trusting soul, I suppose, perhaps because I know a few good ones. I do know that DJT is not a good one.

I have made up my mind and already turned in my ballet.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, the comment above. People believe that just one person can have an impact? I do hear that idea but I always find it most curious.
Sigh. a nudge more than an impact, perhaps

I watched most of Biden and thought he was really good. A couple of times there was a hitch on a consonant, but he recovered. What impressed us was the breadth of facts, figures and information he carries around in his head. His memory is pretty dang good.
ReplyDeleteThe FBI is investigating the NY Post article that the trumpies are currently espousing as Russian disinformation. Rudy has already been identified as a target of the Russians. I find it hard to accept that Hunter got on plane, flew 3000 miles, drove drunk to the shop of a blind computer repairman, signed a contract and then left, never to return. The blind repair man then read the emails stored on the hard drives and called the FBI last December, but coincidentally gave Rudy a copy who just now got around to giving the story to a Murdoch owned paper; said story which has changed daily. This is a pretty poor October surprise. Too bad the Durham prove and the unmasking scandals didn't work out for the trumpies.
I don't think it'll matter but the photos are hard to explain. UKMail had some of them. According to what i read the guy turned it over the FBI originally and nothing came of it. When it got to Guilliani, that pretty well meant the left would never believe it-- and not surprising. If people vote issues, it won't matter anyway given immigration, taxes, legal system, racism, etc. etc.
DeleteI hope that people vote the issues. Their 401K's may be flourishing, but not much else is going well.

For British mysteries, we love Masterpiece Mysteries on PBS on Sunday nights.

I watched 20 minutes of the Donald and that was enough. Then I watched to beginning of Joe, which I had recorded. A half hour of that was enough. Then I listened to Rachel and her synopsis of Trump. I think she only watched the first 20 minutes too, because her report was exactly what I sa. That was more than enough.
ReplyDeleteTrump wanted to know why Susannah was being so hard on him. Could it be that everything he said was either a lie or a wild conspiracy?
I thought Savannah Guthrie did a good job.... but the man is impossible. I watched the whole thing while making lasagna for dinner; there were quite a few giggles involved :-)

Unparalleled writing! In other words, I definitely can't write it. The most popular agency website for POE players is here.
