April 15

This day makes TBG nutty.

He stresses for weeks before.  He has to gear up to get going.  The paperwork spreads over the dining room table for one very long morning, then I take it all to Kinkos to copy it and mail it off.

This year, we have until August to file.

I know I'm just putting off the inevitable, but I have to say that this has been one of the most delightful April's I have spent with the man since we began filing taxes jointly.

I hope your day is as nice as mine is going to be.

  1. I am the tax preparer in my household, and with the help of TurboTax, I filed long ago, got my refund, and used it to help pay my property taxes. Today, on what would have been tax day, I got my "stimulus" deposit into my bank account. We don't need it, but we will put it into saving in case someone in our family needs help. We have no idea what will happen come September. I do know at some point we will have to begin to pay it all back.

    1. The future is blurry right now. I wish we had someone in charge who was competent to lead us through it.

  2. I turbo-taxed ours back in February. Got a State refund, but for some reason, for the first time in years, had to pay a hefty amount of federal. I figured I must be supplying some of the money for the stimulus bailout!
